-
yes i like the look of them very much if well done, which it look as if the second one in your post does

I still dont like the Bobbed Disco compared to the RR Bob tail.
The roof line never looks right to me
I did contemplate cutting mine but i couldn't come up with a sutable rear end look in my mind.
:)

i think a well done bob disco look fantastic , but there are so many poor one around the sights. i have seen one to day done with a bit if old ply as the back! I what to do mine some time but dont what to lose too much, i realy like that second yellow one
-
Not to my own taste, I think they look odd, a pick up version would be more my cuppa tea.
Has anyone done one like that?
-
i did think of doing that to my 200tdi disco but i just know that i couldnt do it justice. it would be a waiste of a very good truck......
i do like the look of a well done one though 8) 8) 8)

One of the mags did an article on an Aussie extended td5 "ute" a while back.
Was very well done.

-
cant remember the company"s name at the moment but they were selling/displaying panels for a bobtail diso at sodburys this year, not an expert on these things but looked quite good to me
-
That would be longranger, was very nice for not a masive budget.

I'm not a fan of the bob tail Disco.
I want to go the opposite way with mine one day and make it a 6x6 disco.

in all honesty
from actualy doing one myself
it would make it that much longer to build
you'd end up with a vid 200 hours long
now you try edit that one down smaller, but still keep all the relivant bits
how mark does his series of a "a ....... is born " i dont no

Boss, are those X-Springs on the back?
-
i meant like a 4x4 is born type say 8 hours max be good for someone doing one rather than books.

-
the cheviot truck is so welll built it has fiddle brakes on the rear winch grooves built into the front bumper and loads of neat tricks,
if i was gona build one it would be close to this!!
when i ripped the exhaust off my truck it was due to following a bobtailed disco 300 and i was able to follow him every were he went, and rescue him when he got stuck, more grip on my tyres than his lol!!!!!!
-
heres a bobtail disco tubback
That's quite scary
The best way to describe that would not be a Hybrid.....
More like an UGLY TRANSEXUAL........... :-&
-
cheviot dave is the man when it comes to it, i got some pics off of him to see what he did, instead of just cutting the back off, he cut the middle out and moved the back forwards  ! looks alot better than miine. i would have done it that way if i had all the tools and a big enough workshop....and time

That is beautiful. What makes it look great is the fact the the rear windows are blanked off so the glass/panel area just looks so much more balanced, and it was a 3 door to start with, so it does not look like it's missing half the back end. That said there is a white one locally that does look really good and that's a 5 door.
I also like a 110 like that (not shortened obviously) but my ideal 110 would be a station wagon body but with 90 rear upper panels with no windows.
