Title: Oil Seals
Post by: Andy the Landy on August 30, 2005, 20:28:48
Need to replace swivel seals and also the seal at the end of the axle to swivel. Will this alter the castor angle once put back together.
Cheers

Thought I'd read somewhere that when swivels and housing were stripped and rebuilt the castor angle needed re-setting - might have dreamt it though.

Little trick for you fella. Fill the swivel housings with grease and then do the inner and outer wheel barings. Your swivel's will never leak again and Landrover also have a sticker for this to inform the mechanic that it has been done. Don't forget to grease the top and bottom swivel bearings.

if you do that, the top bush in the swivel might not get enough lubrication
