Title: cental locking

hello all
my two front doors dont work on my P38
but rears do
is this likely to be mechanism
if so have seen wired type and none wired type
how do/can i tell which i need before taking card off

Fronts are 5 wire type, rears are 2 wire.  My '88 also had a controller under the dash, later models have an alarm wired into the central locking and switches on the locks, so it makes a difference what year yours is.

Have you tried locking the drivers door with the key and seeing if the central locking works from the key?

Have a look in your owners manual, it tells you how to re-set and syncronise the keys.

Sorry for hijacking the thread, but the central locking is not working at all on mine and with the key it only locks the drivers door and it's also saying Alarm Fault could this be conected?,cheers Andy.
