how do i wire a 24v winch to my 12v rangi
-
with some difficulty. You need 2 batteries to provide 24 volts obvioulsy. You can charge one of them but the second will need some thought. You can't just add another alternator because they will be sharing the ground, 0volts.
You could get a 24 volt alternator however but then you need to swap out some wiring.
Can't you rewire the winch? it would make your life so much easier and as I understood it a 24volt motor would be series wound and a 12 volt parelle allowing the manufacturer to use the sam ebasic parts and deliver the same winching power.

Probably simplest to give David Bowyer a ring and get him to ship you a 12V Bowmotor.

after checking the motor i find its burnt out so just ordered a bow motor from goodwinch

Things happen for a reason, it might have ended up the cheapest solution anyway ;)

if you get a bowmotor then still go ahead with the 24v system....bowmotors are amazing when over volted
