I don't know much about spain and the availability of parts, or even the availability of fuel in different locations?
Where are you buying from? Have a look around and see what you fancy, I wouldn't like to guess what there's more of either petrol or diesel. How many miles will you be doing daily?

spares should be good because you get santanas out there which are practicly identicle :D

if it is anything like here i would say diesel is the best to go for if you are going to be doing lots of miles, if not petrol (more expensive but i find you get more power and is less noisey, well in a series vehical anyway, and easyier to turn over in them cold winter mornings, not shure you have cold winter mornings in spain)

Maybe I'm missing something, but how is a Santana virtually identical to a Land Rover?
Alaric.

 Basically it's a Series 3 built in Spain under licence initially. There are loads around and two lasses from LRO have recently driven a diesel one back to England for a rebuild, all chronicled in last issue of LRO.
Santana are still building a clone of the Series 3 an excellent vehicle with little electrickery and a stonking Iveco engine.

petrol everytime..... :D :D
and yep, santana's are pretty much the same vehicle...

Except they were available with a straight 6 which they designed from the 4 cyl 2¼ - same engine, two extra cylinders. :D

The PS10 has some similarities to the Series 3 and was developed from the Series 3 but that's about it. It's got a different engine, gearbox, and running gear. Different interior, completely different bulkhead design etc. It's best to call it the "Series 4" if anything.

Which are supposed to be far far far superior to what else was available from Rover at the time.

ok...i was being very general..... :D
but they were considered a better vehicle, even the new ones are thought to be better than the defender by some...
