took a ford county tractor with a 10 ton winch and a droped spade to pull him out
oh and 200 quid
he was stuck in the forest 25 miles from the nearest village :) :) :)

Yup he looks well and truly stuck. Once you're dug in up to the axles in real soft mud like you've had it! All the gizmos and diff locks in the world won't help. Maybe only winch self recovery would do it?
BTW cost me £50 for a tractor tow out on lane in Northamptonshire once. Morale- never laneing alone if you don't know the territory!

Yep. If he'd had a landy, he'd have broken down long before he got that stuck!

i must say that i was in my fourtrack chained to a mitsubishi warrior chained to a lr 90
the latter vehicles were foresters
we all revved and we all pulled and we all got dug in
long night :!:

£200 seem a bit steep!
Still, i'd like to see the AA get there to help!!

^^^^^^^^^^^
AA dont do offroad recovery anymore, guy over glasgow way got his rav4 stuck on a bit waste ground playing & it was in the papers how the AA couldnt get it out

200 quid is a bit steep
you would think so..
but what is your alternative in those conditions... :)
i presume the guy got out and walked the track as it looked boggy before he got stuck..
sorry my common sense thingy kicked in there ;)

£200 or the car stays stuck
Suddenly it doe'snt seem that dear!
Fair doo's. Must buy a tractor and hang out on green lanes (rubbing hands together)

Landcruisers do do it better and they not only drive to lanes and sites but play all day then drive home in comfort, how many landys can say the same??? Mine is a spec,ed 70 series with a few toys like.... a masive modified G12 winch, simexes, snorkel, diff lockers front and rear, special build winch bumper etc etc. If you look in Total Offroad last month it was featured and looks great but is up for grabs now as new project has come along so if anyone fancies it give me a bell ( dullboot24@tiscali.co.uk)

Thread locked now to prevent further "Mine is better than yours" arguements.
We've been there before and there is a no-win situation involved, just bad feeling.
