Post by: mattyme on September 25, 2009, 19:20:40

I don't know about the solenoid, but a mate had the auto freewheeling hubs stick on his Fourtrack, so there was no drive to the front. Might also be worth a look.

right, ive had a look at the fourtrack now and there is no drive to the front prop from the transfer box at all.... if he selects 4L on the transfer lever i would have assumed that it would put drive to the front prop. am i correct in my assumption?

also the 4H button on the dashboard doesnt light up when pressed in.... apparently it operates a solenoid to engage 4WD high ratio.

any suggestions or known remedies guys please!!?

it could be the wireing on the  solenoid or the  solenoid itsself i had a h reg was same when i bought it never fixed it as i got a old manual transferbox and fitted that  worked much better and never any more problems  while i owned it.i seem to rember the  solenoid being a small plastick bit on the top of the transfer box with a pipe comeing off it to the box never tryed fixing i so never did work out how it works. but if you can get one id put a older transfer box on so it dosent do it again as ii dont think the  solenoid s like geting wet and muddy.
