Title: should i be getting very cross
Post by: lambert on September 03, 2012, 06:23:14
As I may have mentioned my car has never been that easy to start and despite much online research i was not really any closer to sorting it. Bare in mind that when it was under warranty it went in to be looked at to no avail. So finally I took it to a different indy specialist who fired it up a few times and told me the pump timing is retarded. So on Friday it gets a new timing belt and is being setup properly by my mot man and I. This is not my issue, but given that where I got it from claimed to have done the belt when I got it should I be getting trading standards involved especially given the lack of enthusiasm shown when my steering box started leaking. Or do I cut and run?

What would you do?

if it had had a new timing belt, it should have a sticker under the bonnet stating the mileage and date when it was changed. The sticker comes with all timing kits

That would require a conscientious approach from the people doing it, something lacking in these individuals.

Fuel was off by about half the width of the lock pin. That being so if the belt I replaced was only 18months old I am spartacus.
