could you use the air suspention system off a p38 for tyre inflation an the free spoll mec?

Wouldnt have thought it strong enough, it is designed to inflate the airbags and keep them topped up occasionally. They have a high fail rate just doing that.

I recently helped a friend do something similar using an air con compressor to provide air and a diving tank for storage, uses a switch in the cab to actuate the compressors clutch and uses a safety valve to prevent over pressurising the tank. Provides enough air to re inflate his 35"simex tyres takes about 4 minutes to fill tank from empty.

Thats the way to go, york compressor from an old volvo and make the system up from there.
I think the only problem you might get using a suspension compressor is that they are made for short use, not constant use like for 16mins reinflating 4 tyres.

OK thanks for the info! our p38 has been converted to springs so the air suspension kit is all there sat doing nothing i thought i might be able to use it for something never mind cheers!

I've got one of those york compressors (a 210) that i want to try and glue to my Td5. trouble is there's hardly any room to fit the bluddy thing!
OBA would be pretty neat :afro: :afro:

Ive got the air pump off the latest range rover hooked up to a p38 resorvoir tank with a 120psi pressure switch sorting it all out. Works a treat. You could always use one of those Tmax pumps but the quality will never be as good as a range rover one. The disco 3 pumps are made in germany :lol:

Did a similar thing to an old MU - used the air con pump and plumbed in an airline fitting with a saftey valve set at 160psi. Cost about

The tank is in the passenger footwell up against the seatbox, so it kinda lives under the passengers knees. Im planning on piping up some airlines to the front and rear of the landy, so I can just plug my flexi in and blow tyres up.
