Title: What does a 110 weigh and how much can it tow ???

Hi all...

Can anybody please tell me what a 1984 200tdi manual A reg 110 defender weighs please ??.. it has only got the front seats and it has got a fully enclosed back..

Also what can i legaly tow behind it weight wise ??

Mine has not got a plate on. due to it being lost after the respray..

It should tow 3.5 tonnes.  Any trailer above that needs close-coupled brakes.

yes as already said 3.5 t or 4 t with close coupled brakes

That's the legal weight limit, but towing that amount is bloody scary  :shock: :lol:

Depends. A well loaded descent trailer can be very nice to tow, albeit a little slow!

My 110 V8 weighs 1840kg's on the scales, and its max permitted weight is 3050kg if I remember correctly.

I towed a 'slightly overweight' trailer, with an even load, once and it was pretty scary above 40mph. Fortunately, I didn't have far to go. On the scales the whole rig was 5.75 tonnes  :shock: :lol:
