Title: I shouldn't be looking but...
Post by: muddyjames on April 26, 2010, 08:44:39
I have seen this one!  I am guessing his local specialist is Safari Engineering who I know well as I used to be thier postie and have told / asked him this.

What do you all think?

As the titla says, I shouldnt be looking but I am itching to get a series 3 landy again. I would ideally like a tax exempt but we can't have everything!

Go for it, she look's a beauty  :D
I have also just bought my self another S111 after a long lay off from the landrover scene....only thing is i may now have to sell it on.
It's a 109 FFR and it takes up to much room on the drive.....i knew i should have got an 88"

answer to my question of if there are any advisories after the mot.

Yes the landy did have some advisories they are as follows. Both of the headlamp reflectors have some rust but this is not adversley affecting the beam image (this was an advisory last year too). Slight wear to steering box and slight play in the wheel I asked both MOT chap and the specialist about this and they said it was about right for a 37 year old series and did nt need work unless I wanted. Both rear springs deteriorated but not seriously weakened (as mentioned in the description) . There is a crack in the frony number plate. The chassis has been plated to fix rust. This was done years ago and was done well the specialist says the chassis is now solid. The specialist is Greaves 4x4 land rover diagnostics (on the web -I am sure Pete would be happy to talk to you about her if you wanted).I paid £1400 last year for her but I have not put a reserve on so now that the starting price has gone I ll get what I get I suppose. £1400 would be nice though! I hope this helps thanks for the questions.Jeremy
