Just to keep the lawers happy ;-)

If it came from Scorpion, it's probably not a DeCarbon spring... it will be one made by the spring company that Scorpion use.

If it is a DeCarbon spring, then I'll shut up and go away again  8)

I will retract all previous statements to the efeect of de-carbon within the relative repose if the habeus copus together with the fact of volenti non fit injuria. So basically yes Scorpion, and I will call them tomorrow.

Thanks Tim...

Now, remember, when they ask you how it happened you was doing 15mph over a speed hump, with an empty vehicle and nothing in the back

He probably was going less than 15..... and yes it was a speed hump... just not the sort you find on roads.....  :(biglaugh):  could have been one of those new sump busters for the small dinky sports car/boy racer types who use the foot path as a rat run....

Now thats a point, do I say was off roading ? I dont see why not as they are selling these as off road products and all the people I have spoken to have never seen a spring actually snap like that.

Hopefully I will get some replies before I call them.

Does it make a difference ?   If the spring has been sold for the vehicle, then unless it has some disclaimer in the company's T&C about use off road, it should be suitable for purpose.   The purpose being in this case, keeping a Land Rover in the air.

No offence ment....  both my front ones on my evo setup are knackered, a freind also snapped one of his, the springs are NOT de carbon springs but painted orange to look nice, also those de carbon shocks arnt up to much, not that im annoyed at all, ive gone back to old man emu from devon 4x4 now... got that out of my system !

if u look at the ad for scorpion it can be a little misleading.

they refer to the springs and shocks as a 'decarbon suspension kit'

I suppose even painting the springs to match the shocks can make people believe it.

I have to say this isnt the first Ive seen snap.  The shocks crack at the top aswell.  I think Scorpion are always fairly good at replacing it BUT it should break in the first place!

At last years Abingdon 4x4 I saw 2 discos with cracked shocks and at a recent play day a spring snapped in exactly the same place!

Fit an Old Man Emu kit.  Never heard them break but Im doing my best trying

Get Iron Man springs... after my scorpion springs sagged i replaced them with 4 ironman springs for £120.. and the landy sits better and feels better on the road....
