Well guys & gals, I am trying to get a snorkel kit for the my defender which has a range rover 3.5 EFi engine. Has anybody made a DIY version that has some pics to give me some idea's?
Cheers
Matt.

Have you checked out the southdown web site?
Their raised air intake is for all models just use a different adapt plate and tube, all 63mm.
I just bought the wing adapt and the snorkel top off ebay, direct from southdown (if that makes sense), as cosmetic seconds at greatly reduced price, and they look fine

The engine was already in the vehicle when i got it from the misses dad. It came from the factory as a 3.5 v8 manual and now it has a rrc auto. I am looking to put a diesel in as the petrol costs so much. I get about 11mpg round town.

11 mpg sounds about rite well i think u should be able to have the normal defender snorkel but i think on the v8 the air filter is on passengers side so if the external vent there its a matter of fitting external snorkel as normall but custom the internal, if the air vent is on drivers side then you will have to cut the external pannel for it to fit, if u catch my drift

Cheers for your reply. The air filter is on the passenger side behind the head light. i need to get some tubing to move the filter. I will get some pictures up later. let me know what you think.

If you look at the Southdown it comes through the top of the wing, so you can mount either side to make fitting easier for custom use, you dont use the existing inlet
