What mud tyres and size do you recommend for the Grand cherokee 4.0 ltd currently with 225/70x16 General Grabbers ?

is it a daily runner if so I am running some Goodyear Wrangler MTR's at the moments, seem to be a good tyre and pretty good in the sticky stuff

on the other I have Insa Sahara's and I love em to be honest, well behaved on the road for a mud tyres and not that noisy either,

You can fit 255x70r15's under a stock ZG, so what ever the 16" version of those is - Something around a 23x70r16 would fit fine

for the money you'll not beat Insa turbos, they are remoulds but brilliant reputation.

Maybe I should ask for some.... from what I've seen they offer an excellent range at a fair price, they have an excellent pedigree, just not well known over here...  Used in extreme stuff in the states....

sorry to hijack but can you run 245/75 R17 BFG  instead of the standard 235/65 R17's on a Grand Cherokee WJ????
It seems otherwise your restricted on choice for off road tyres?

Cheers

Fitted a set to my Cherokee, off road fantastic, close to BF muds and very quite at 70mph. Will be using them on the Wrangler.

Very pleased with them.

They are actually cheaper than many remoulds (Insa)

285/75 R16 (33") fitted £350 Buckshot mudders

Thinking of getting 31x10.5R15 Maxxis Trepadors for Cherokee (£320 fitted)

I have a '99 GC (WJ) with 235/70 16 Kingpin Technic Amazon MT Remould. £54 a corner from 4x4 Tyres: http://www.4x4tyres.com/index.php?show=tyres&rim=R16&profile=235/70 (http://www.4x4tyres.com/index.php?show=tyres&rim=R16&profile=235/70). these have so far proved very good off-road and quiet on. Take a look at your manual and see what size snow tyres are recommended.

No Probs glad to help, worth jotting down the part number from the US site as not all stockist know all the details... if you get stuck are man here in Plymouth has a good contact that seems to sort any problems.

A few people are also selling them on a well known internet auction site.

Cheers Maf
