OK.
Which of you were out and about and had lunch at the Romer Arms in Newnham today :?:
I thought I spotted a few vehicles that I know about parked along the village green.
Hope you had a good day as the vehicles seemed to be rather c-cl-cle-clea ... well not very muddy anyway
-
OK, I'll put my hand up and admit to being there. The others can admit it or keep quiet as they see fit
The vehicles may have been fairly clean then but you should have seen them at the end of the day.
Due to some unexpected lane closures (good old Northants CC) we hadn't actually driven many lanes before lunch.
Made up for it later though :D

Hi Bob,
I'll own up too, I was leading the group, so accept all responsibility, excellent meal in the pub, you should have popped in for a chat.
As Gordon said the afternoon was quite a bit muddier.

As Gordon said the afternoon was quite a bit muddier.
Frank, given NCC's antics was the muddier afternoon fun to be had out of county?
Cheers,
Doc
-
Hi Nick,
No, we stayed within the county but had a little trauma or two around Cottesbrooke and going up Tally-ho, we had newcomer's Terri and her husband Paul, with AT's on their standard Disco, which we had to haul up the hill, but who assured us, they had a really good day and will be coming out with us again, so well done you two, 10 out of 10 for effort.

i shall take this opportunity to deny all knowledge of anything whatsoever
-
Ah, glad it all got a bit better as the day (and the rain) went on
Would have popped in to say hello except that at the time I was taxi-ing number 1 son (aka Landieman) to his girlfriends in Weedon and then on into Daventry for a spot of sh*pp*ng at Tesco's with SWMBO
And Dave, you can deny whatever you like but did we spot a new bumper and winch on Ted :?: :?:
Oh, by the way, despite the profile Newnham is actually home so I'm glad you enjoyed your visit to my local.
-
detective inspector Bob, mmmm spotted my new gadget then eh? its a 'DRU' (disco recovery unit)
its a shame u couldnt come with us , it was an excellent day out - got off to a poor start due to the lane closures but that soon was behind us - I must confess the we did experience that the rain did help to keep down the dust that we had all become used to after the long dry spell
see u and Ben soon
Dave
-
Dave.
Would have been nice to tag along except that if I had you would probably have had to use the DRU on me.
If Terri & Paul couldn't get up Tally-Ho with AT's on I'd have stood no chance
Will pm you about Tixover.
-
Hi Guys,
You can also add my name to the list, the pub grub was great, and also the lanes were good in the afternoon.
Unfortunately I got very damp and cold, which resulted in me having a day of work yesterday.
Cheers
-
Blimey Phil,
I was the one who had to go home ill, and I still made it to work OK, you must have too much money.
-
I was feeling rough during the afternoon, but though I'll be ok (not the case) When I have some spare time I will fill you in.
By rights I shouldn't be out playing at all..... :D
-
Ooops,
Sorry Phil, looks like I've put me foot in it again, :? hope you're feeling a bit better now.
-
Not at all Frank, you wasn't to know.. I been ill for sometime, still undergoing tests at the hospital and with my doctor. I have good days and then bad. Yesterday was a bad one. It all stems from a bit of food poisoning I had back in May, which put me in hospital.
Getting cold and damp doesn't help, Doctor has advised that I give up the off-road sport :(
-
OI Phil,
You can't give up the off-road thing, it's the only thing keeping you sane, any anyway, who would I get to lead a group if you weren't about.
-
Don’t worry Frank. I'm not giving it up :D Doctor can advise as much as he likes, not going to happen, He been harping on about me smoking for the past god knows how many years, and I'm still smoking.
I'll still be there to get others lost, oh and myself
-
Good for you Phil,
Doctors, what do they know about enjoyment anyway, mind you - have to agree with the smoking thing, I used to get through 60 a day once, boy did I feel better when I gave that up, that was 15 years ago, Fat - yes, Ugly - yes, but feeling better for it all the same, so sorry, got to agree wiv the vet, give it up.
-
I do agree with the smoking, I should give that habit up, but while its still enjoyed makes it harder... takes me mind off other problems 8) . One day a!
Fat and ugly I already am so that shouldn't be a problem..... :D  :o

This doctor certainly wouldn't advise giving up the off-roading. Mind you, my colleagues think I'm mad anyway
As for smoking; you have to want to give up, otherwise you'll only start again even if you manage it. However, this is a fun forum so 'nuff work :)
Hope you feel better soon.
