Title: diff lock not engageing

hello

 my diff lock will not engage  by the lever but  with my floor out i can engage it by the bracket on to of t box is there any way of adjusting the lingage to make it move across by the lever?

If it has the same lever mechanism as my disco (which I believe it has) the the cross sliding mechanism on top of the box seizing from lack of use is probably your culprit.

The shaft from the diff lock lever is fixed to the linkage by a pinch bolt over a splined joint, with this released you will be able to see if the lever is stuck. If it is, you need to remove the four bolts to get it off the top of the box. You should be able to free it up without to much effort with it of the car. I made sure it was smothered in coppaslip before reassembly.

my diff lock lever wll move freely and it will move the linkcage so far but will not engage the diff lock with out moveing the little bracket thingy by hand

make sure the plastic spacer washers are in the linkage cos if they aint thee is 2 much free slack & difflock wont engage

were do i fine the plastic washers?
