Title: Lpg questions
Post by: 90sam on January 02, 2007, 14:18:24
Hey
Didnt really know where to put this so i though i would post it here and see  :?
Well.. I have recently bought a discovery with an Lpg conversion and have never previously owned a car that runs on lpg. Would just like some advice on how you fill them up. I did the other week but i didnt really know if i was doing it right and would just like to confirm for my own mind how to fill up.
Also, i have the lpg stations on my sat nav but is there a map on the internet that i can print off incase my sat nav runs out of battery?
Thankyou all!
Sam

Hiya

When I had an LPG car previously, the only place you could reliably get information about LPG was from http://www.lpga.co.uk.

Since then, I've seen a fold up map (about the same size and shape as an OS map) covering all the LPG stations in the UK. Not sure where it came from, but I'm sure someone else will come along who knows - just wanted to let you know that something actually exists :)

Hope this helps

Ben

It depends on the pump, as there are a couple of different designs in use.  But in general, you bayonet the pump to your filler point, then use some sort of lever to engage it, then you lean on the button until it's full.  The pump will automatically cut out when the tank is 80% (maximum) full.  Then you release the lever (puff of gas) and undo the bayonet.

LPG pumps tend to have full instructions on the side, if you're in any doubt.

this place sell a paper map.
http://www.go-autogas.com/

I have an old one that came free with a landy mag a few years ago.

Some garages sell them too. I think morrisons near me (who have LPG) had some on the counter a month or two back.

I fell that it is much easier to just pack my tomtom for any longer journeys and I have all the LPG POI's in that. I know all the LPG garages within 25 miles or so without using the map!
