Title: Wheel and tyre sizes with air suspension
Post by: Nik on July 10, 2004, 18:27:49
Can anyone give me any advise on wheel / tyre sizes for an air sprung range rover classic? At present I have the standard Vogue alloys with 205's on, but there isn't much room with the air suspension down. I was thinking of getting new wheels and tyres at Billing next weekend, but I know I am going to be restricted.

Any advise on maximum offsets and tyre sizes?

Cheers,

Nik.

I believe, and I could be wrong, that 245/70x16's are about the biggest using standard offset alloys. Any larger and you start running out of space when you either lower the suspension or articulate fully. The 245s should fit inot the wings quite nicely despite the width. It's the diameter that seems to catch RRC's out.

I have 235/70's on standard rims on my LSE. It looks like I could go a little wider but i'm happy with what i've got

I find the smaller the profile, the harder the ride.
