Title: water coolant level

me again with a probably simple question !
the water coolant level for the radiater - what level do you you fill it to as far as i can see there is no max marking ?

Rule of thumb is to the top of the rad, which is just short of the top of the neck, with having an expansion tank connected to the neck of the rad, any overspill on expansion will go into that

We started overheating the other day and the steam pressure actually cracked the cap to the overflow bottle. Turns out our radiator was full of grass seed and scarily I had to tip in nearly 3/4 of a gallon of water when the capacity is only 1 gallon -   :oops:

If still blocked try back flushing the system should push some of th emuck out, if it dont looks like the rad out and try it flushed at both ends
