Title: Passenger elecy window
Post by: Pablo011 on July 18, 2012, 23:54:25
whilst out and about in the disco today around Chester, I went to talk to somone on the inside lane of a rounabout. "I did Know them" but went to wind the window down and it went down ok no probs, but when our chat finished I went to wind it back up or rather push the up button and it made a whirring noise but didnt move.

back home now so took all the door bits apart and had to push it up manually while pushing the button and now all back togeather it wont go up or down it just makes a whirring noise so the motor  seems to work ok, its just not pushing or pulling the window at all  any ideas ..........?

thanks guys

Paul

Check the teeth on the end of the motor and the window mechanism - they usually wear down or break or could be just the motor.

While your in there, check the channel that the window glass sits in. This can rust and expand, it then catches on other parts of the window mechanism.

before finally falling out of the channel and refusing to go up or down without manual intervention... if you're lucky!

I was lucky and just crimped mine back together, covered it in grease to stop any more rust, and it lasted till I sold it.

We had this, the whole mechanism was buckled. Made of really weak alloy, got a new one for £25 so not too bad
