Well I find them easy, I've done a couple.

You don't need to remove the drop arm but it helps

Remove the circlip by whatever means makes you feel better, watch your eyes.

The guts of the balljoint will by now be in the dirt (assuming you have removed the drag link already)

Th3e bitch is removing the race, if it's badly worn there is no shoulder left to drive it out with......

........Dremel grinds :D

Clean theinsides out then fit the static race first, I like to polish the ball and races smooth but that's just me.

Once the static race is driven fully in, smother in grease.

Fit the ball, cobvered in grease, the floating race, the spring, small side first, the O ring and cap, hold inplace with the first of 3 hands.

I use a G clamp , deep socket and standard socket now, the deep one over the tapered shaft, the standard one against the cap, you'll see what I mean about 3 hands now.  Use the G clamp to push the cap inside the drop arm, fit the circlip and use a small screwdriver and hammer to drive it fully home.

Not a fun job but I don't find it too bad now, the first one I hated doing.
