Title: SAAB 93 Blown Engine
Post by: SHERMAN TANK on November 22, 2008, 11:50:33

Help,

Just blew the engine on my wifes saab , and taking some serious flak from the old girl, would it be worth cutting loose and getting a new car, if so what would it be worth?

Its a SAAB 93, 52 plate, 63000 miles, 2.0 T, Petrol, Automatic.

Shes only had it 4 months, we have a warranty but it only covers up to £500.

Not sure what to do and getting a bit desperate, have a mechanic looking at it next week to determind the exact problem but mr AA seems to think its terminal.

Your thoughts and comments-good, bad and ugly, will be much appriciated.

Cheers

that engine is also in the 9000,broadens your horizon a bit, ancillaries will all be different mate, but strip everything off, then bolt everything on off your old engine.the auto engine isnt as easy to find as the manuel, but they are out there, can be cheap too,if it was a shed, dont bother, but if its only done that milege, then why not.

I'd be talking to citisen's advice mate, if they sold you a warranty that implies the car should last more than 4 months.
