Title: Ancillary Drive Belt Tensioner
Post by: Mark_Solesbury on November 24, 2007, 22:16:57
Been through some floods recently here and my bloody defender sounds like poo

The drive belt tensioner is squeaking really loudly.

Is there anyway to fix these? Ive squirted it with WD40 on the back, and it stops it for a while but it soon comes back when it gets warm.

They are about £60 new :(

Not done it myself but pretty I seen on a forum somewhere details on how to replace the bearing on one of these. You might need to just need repack it with grease.

I have had that squeal myself, nightmare, coming back 15 min after wd40 :D  lucky I had a spare one to replace with.
