Title: camshaft bearings
Post by: Mutz on May 25, 2007, 21:29:18
Anybody changed their camshaft bearings in a 300tdi?
Although it looks like they are exactly the same in a N/A, TD, 200 & 300tdi.
How hard as it looks like 1 is badly worn and another is completly shagged.

hi.
most cam bearings are a tap in fit the centre bearing is the worst to fit the rear one comes out from the rear after removing the core plug ,taking care a fairly straight forward job.

I have been told they should be fitted and then machined to fit cam, not a home job.
Wondered if you have had problems after fitting?
