It's a cheaper alternative to using a different spring.  

Whilst it is true of any suspension lift, it is more true with these that you ought to fit extended bumpstomps to stop the springs from becoming coil-bounds and getting damaged.

I've used a similar type of thing on my Disco on the rear but added the Scorpion Racing 2" dropper on the Shock Absorber mount.
I'm about to add dislocation cones to get the coil springs back in when they dislocate.

I like the extra plate for the front that allows you to fit the damper/shock absorber on to it first and then bolt that to the spacer.
