Title: hand brake drum removal
Post by: 4 landies on January 16, 2006, 18:43:21
thought it would be a simple job to remove the hand brake drum, dropped the prop clear and removed retaining screws only to find the rangie floor was stopping the drum sliding off. is this normal or am I just unlucky.

ha ha!! Someone else got this problem too at last! The Borg warner No- drum-pully-offy syndrome! Right then -here's what I did - get an angle grinder and chop out the bit of floor that's getting in the way. Get some steel sheet and fabricate a new shaped bit of floor and weld it in place.
Simple!........oh alright, I'll take some photos of it tomorrow if you like.

Ours is a just and only fit too but I can just remove it.  Buy an X brake, you know you want to.
