Title: Freelander timing help!!!!!!!!
Post by: BobtailBogey on May 13, 2010, 17:09:51
Right we have a 98 2.0 TD freelander in at the moment and the head was already off before we got it.

anyway we have put it back together new gaskets etc etc.... and we originally went by the timing marks which i pressume were put on there before it was taken apart.
We put it all back together and went to turn it over but would hit as soon as any piston got near the top.

So got it all apart again and timed it up by locking the flywheel and lining the mark up on the cam pulley. but still no luck its jammed solid.

So im getting very irritated by it now as we need it out the door.

So with the cam pulley lined up where abouts does the crank/ piston's need to be??

Many thanks in advance :)
