Title: Hardback/Softback - can they be swapped?
Post by: Disco Matt on March 19, 2010, 16:49:30
Just curious (and with a view to a 3dr V6 Freelander if my Disco ever has a major mechanical failure) - if you buy a hardback version can you swap to the softback, or are there differences in the bodyshells?

As far as I know, you can swap them as long as you have all the right bits!

No difference at all. All the mountings are there, you just need all the bits.

Thanks chaps - obviously the roof rails would be a good idea to deflect branches from the fabric. The only vehicle I have any knowledge about with interchangeable roof panels is the Mazda MX5!

Roof rails are a pain with a hard top. A real nightmare removing/replacing it.
