right maybe you lot can help!
got an SJ410 that I'm haft way through putting a diesel lump in. but today i just picked up a tidy ish!!! vitara.
the plan for the 410 was going to be the diesel lump a vitara rear axle. then bobtail it and tray back it. sammy axle up front with SPOA.
And use it as a challenge truck.
but now i have got this vit. do i stick the sammy axle under the front off it.on coils. stick with the 1.6 carbed engine and prep this for challenge events.?????
the way i see it is its going to be more work to get the sj up to the same spec as the vi. I.E. coil rear vit front diff. power steering. etc.
and we do now that the vit drives nicer. but the sj would take a bit more hammering body Wise. than the vit would.
and of coarse the other think is. SJ are becoming hard to find now. so is now the time to start looking at vits as the sj replace meant???
come on. what you all think???if it were you what would you do???
the sj.(http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z300/petetong1704/Picture548.jpg)
and the vitara i got today.

Vitara comfort offroad :D
From my experince with a vit,All you need is a decent set of mud tyres to get you going.
The list is endless though suspension lift, body lift etc etc
Cheers Gav

should really have said. which ever one i do. its going to be my second offroader. and just for challenge events. just sold my Sammy challenge truck to fund a LWB vit for daily driver and weekend toy.!!and the sj.
but now i got the vit don't no which one to build for challenges?
if i do the vit. it will have a sammy front axle. to try!to stop cv/axle breakage's!?

pete go with the vit m8y
as you say its gonna be less work in the long run parts are more plentiful nower dayz

thats what im thinking. less work. we seem to be a bit slow to pick up on the good points of the vitara down here. but you boys seem to have got it sorted
so thinking the best thing to do with the sj is brake it for spares??

if its a good shell might be worth just sellin that as they are getting rarer than hens teeth
if the derv conversion is almost there again sell it on it will make someones job easier if they are going to derv
just my opinion thou fella
