Title: Electrics
Post by: Carroll on March 14, 2006, 19:22:44
One of the lads atr work has a 96 Grand Cherokee with an electrical problem. The passenger side electric window switch moves the window, but the panel on the drivers side won't move any of the windows. Also the rear windows don't work and the electric mirrors have failed.

I'm thinking it must be a problem with an earth to the panel on the drivers door (as this has the 'child lock' for the rear), but any suggestions would be welcome..... :)

I think you're on the right track in the drivers door.  all the windows feed through the drivers switch, so an issue there affects them all.  That combined with eht mirrors puts you at a ground issue.  Also - try opening and closing the door slowly while trying the window - maybe a broken wire in the loom from the door to the body.
