:?: I have a leaking injector pump (1989 2.4) and am trying to remove it but have discovered that the drive gear is on the shaft with a taper and woodruff key. Is it possible to break this taper without stripping the front of the engine? There is a round access hole in the cover.

Did you get the leak fixed, I have the same problem with my '89 2.4 2LT.
Been looking for a replacement pump, but they are like hens teeth.
Did you use a seal kit, and if so where did you get it, and is it an easy job?
Let me know how it goes.
