Title: 2.7 Terrano poor starting
Post by: banditman on January 05, 2007, 19:29:51
Hi Terrano Gurus,

just snuck in from Range Rover Land to ask a quetion for a friend

She has a 2.7 Terrano, normally a daily driver with occasional green lane use and it's becoming increasingly difficult starting it....

Symptoms are that when she turns it on, she waits for the glow plug light to go out and then starts it.....turns over and over and over and over, eventually fires and then smokes out Lancashire (and surrounding counties on a bad day!)

Glow plugs, I hear you cry.........so did I

All changed for new and no different......

Glow plug relay I hear you cry........so did I

seems to be pointing all it's amps in the right direction.....

Compression I fear may be the answer (daren't go there!)

Any ideas guys??

(this is why I find V8 petrol engines are much simpler)

Seriously tho, all help appreciated !!

i had this problem changed the plugs and buzz bar and other bits and bobs and then turned out to be the starter motor
