Title: What's heavier?
Post by: africanpete on April 02, 2007, 23:19:13
Hi all
Not sure if anyone knows but its with a try anyway.

Thinking about replacing the 9mm WBP plywood on my SD rack with 5mm aluminium, so what's heavier a m2 of 9mm WBP or m2 of 5mm ally?

Thanks
Peter

1 sq mtr 12mm ply weighs approx 8.7kg
1 sq mtr 5mm Aluminium sheet weighs approx 14kg

Thought of that but I'd have to use 3mm and I dont it will be strong enough when I'm walking on the rack.

Looks like I'm gonna stick with the WBP

Thank you all for the input
