Title: P38 Reversing lights
Post by: waveydavey on April 24, 2006, 22:57:59
I am looking at a reversing sensor (Meta Targa SR2) which looks dead easy to fit.
It gets it's supply and is switched on by the reversing lights, does anybody know if this would confuse the cars electronics?

I'm guessing it will be OK.

The electronics basically look for either no current flow (bulb flow) or current flowing (OK).

Otherwise, as long as it's within the switching capacity of the MOSFETS, you're OK.  IIRC you're good for adding another pair of bulbs, so as long as you're not drawing more than a couple of amps for the sensors you should be good to go.

I can double check the MOSFET switching capacity if you want.

Thanks for that, I will probably go for it, the worst part is just to get the wire inside neetly, SWMBO will like it big time.
