It wouldnt surprise me if it was real .You could get a cover for all the series motors to help them warm up.
-
they are always on there, some times sold as military spec.
army must love boiled up motors!
-
you can get them from landrover i belive
-
Oh, it will help it heat up alright. :)
-
Just make sure you drill a few holes so the rad gets some air
-
I have one in my garage, the guy i got the truck from they were used for deep wading....... mine has velcro bits on it to hold it on.... never used it as i've butchered my standard grill around the winch......
-
Reaper has one on his Discovery
8)
-
not long after i had my rad re-cored we went on a jolly round the highlands at xmas time, the engine temp dropped and the heaters barely worked, i had to pull over and tie wrap a rubber floor matt over the grill, things warmed up nicley, but never over heated 8)

I have one for my 200Tdi its just the job for early shift starts on frosty mornings. Genuine accessory fixed with turn buckle fixings.
-
theres a big enough gap infront of the rad between the grill that the viscous will draw air from

I think Dan is right, a lot of modern cars have blank grilles to prevent over-cooling, oh and the build up of dead flies :?
