Title: "check engine" light question
Post by: petergalileo on July 27, 2006, 20:56:48
Aquired a 300TDI on an N reg, had to take the ABS fuse out as one of the sensors is dirty and the abs cuts in occasionally under normal braking.

The check engine light is now flashing, I assume it doesnt like the abs fuse removed, but I notice it flashes oddly, its like one I had on a vectra when you shorted 2 pins on the test socket it would falsh out codes.

My question is, does the 300tdi do the same and if it does, is there a list of codes ?

Thanks

AFAIK the ABS & check engine light arent connected,

could do with more details to what electrics are on the engine,is it a 300 auto?

does it have a air flow meter?
is it a fully electric inj pump (no throttle cable)

It is a 300tdi auto, it has a throttle cable though it has cruise (not working) not sure about a air flow meter.

Check engine light didnt come on until I removed the abs fuse, havent replaced the fuse yet need to clean the sensors first.
