Spent a good part of this morning with radio and bino,s at hand driving around the Plain looking for 15 trucks that had driven over a local farmers fields that were planted with winter crops when the farmer approached them they became very aggresive and frightened the life out of the poor old sod, anyway i got involved through Plain watch and Mod Pol wardens etc after 3hrs i found them having lunch at a local pub job done radioed in and left the powers that be to sort it out, most of the trucks were new mk3 4 Discos + a couple of new Rangie sports, think i know the name of the club but unsure so will not speculate  :police:,
another nail ? how many does it take?
-
good job tracking them down, they're a pain in the backside for everyone else!
-
Name and shame!
-
Sounds like we're getting pasted from both ends... the "Weld it together cheap" crowd and the "I'm FAR too rich to bother with rules" crowd!
Section 59, happily, doesn't differentiate!!!
Never mind name and shame... might get it wrong... but photographic evidence posted.... they can't argue with that!

Your dead right and if i had been around to see them doing it i would of had it on film and would have no problem in handing them to the plod :police: ,i was more concerned for old Simon the farmer he was really shook up by the ferocity of the threats and abuse he encountered that man works daylight to dawn in all weathers and then has this scum drive over his hard work and future income,
-
I take it this wasn't that field of crops that has got the byway across middle of it as you come out of Bourne Bottom?

No m8 it was on the west side near to Netheravon ,
-
As a farmer I can sympathize but I will resist a rant. But a public birching wouldn't go amiss on these fools.
-
So whats the outcome???
-
It would seem that just verbal warnings and a few names and numbers were taken ,it came down to prooving the allegations
it was going to be the farmers word against a dozen of them and the costs of getting a dozen people into court with little evidence against them was not going to be ok d by the senior officers, so this time they are away with it  so no compensation for the farmer or justice for that matter.

Video.... that's the answer...
:police:
-
If they were warned as to future conduct, can we now know who they were?
-
As it was individuals who were warned it doesnt shed any light on what club they belong too (if any) it was just my guess looking at the model of Disco most of them were driving but it was just that a guess and one cant lay the blame on people if not 100% sure, :lipsrsealed:

This sort of story gets me narked. I deal with this sort of stuff on a day to day basis, and have a couple of succesful prosecutions at court.
Evidence is the key, be it photographic, or direct visual from a witness.
As a Plod and a Laner, it bugs the hell out of me when I see damage to crops, lanes butchered, woodlands driven through by the 'Idiot Brigade', and those with criminal intent, i.e poachers.
Driving over a growing crop is Criminal Damage, pure and simple.
All I can say is, if you see it, report it.
The more people that complain and who are prepared to make statements, makes our job easier.
-
I have no qualms about reporting people who are gradually taking my chosen Hobby/sport away from me so power to your arm my friend ,
-
Landroger, you are obviously on good terms with your local ModPol bods, do you have contact with my opposite numbers in Wiltshire Plod's Rural Crime Team?
I do a lot of close work with them and they are very active.

No i dont get that involved , i just have a passion for the Plain on which i was born and lived on my families very remote farm untill compulsory purchased by MOD in the 60s ,since then i have lived, worked. and played on it and resent the Morons who are gradually erodeing our access rights to the many lanes on the Plain .
