Title: Is my posterior stable?
Post by: Spacemud on October 15, 2006, 00:05:15
In my (new to me) series IIa there are the three basic vinyl seats. The backs have a means of fixing but the bases are loose. Is this correct, I can't see it passing an MOT with unstable seat bases?!!

The seat bases should fit in a tray of some sort.  I don't think mine would be any use if I got some photos, as they're the station wagon seat base mounts on runners.

some seat bases sit straight onto the metal, with a leather strap onto a fastener on the front of the seat box, others had a metal asp doing the same thing as the leather one

But in general they are ok, if that seat base shoots forwards, i think the last thing you would be worrying about would be your backside
