Hi There

I use 3M's Grey stone guard which sprays on.

If you are looking to preserve it over winter I use old engine oil in a plastic spray bottle and squirt it inside the box sections. It sticks to the silt and crud seals air out and prevents insides rusting.

You never see rust on the oily bits of your engine bay.

Cheers H1
