basically the same radius, but 7.50 are narrower. I believe they are 7.50 wide, whilst 235/85 are 9.4ish, definately narrower though.

they are as near as damn it the same diameter, but a lot narrower. I run 235/85s for laning and have 7.50s as spares

The clue is in the name.

7.5 inches = 190mm
235mm = 9.25 inches

The actual size of a tyre varies a little from its nominal size between manufactures, tread patterns and retred or new.

This should help explain the tyre sizes if your unsure just what all the codes mean.

265/75s are virtually the same diameter too (2mm less than 235/85), although wider still at 265mm / 10.43 inches

All three sizes (7.50, 235/85 and 265/75) have been standard on 110's and optional on 90's

Standard size on a 90 is 205 (actually 205/80).

And for what it's worth 205/80 is the same diameter as a 235/70 which is why Land Rover fitted both to Discos

My 90 currently runs 235/70s as it runs Disco alloys but I have a 205/80 spare (less strain on the door hinges, I think of it like a "spacesaver" spare wheel fitted to many modern cars)

My 90 has 205/70/16's and I've just got hold of a set of 235/70/16 Greenway Machos MTs.

For clarity of anyone who doesn't know how tyre sizes are worked out the rule is.
Tyre Width/Pofile as a percentage of tyre width/Rim diameter. so 235/70/16's would be: 235 mm wide 70% of 235mm high and fitted to a 16"rim which gives you a total wheel size of  235/100 x 70 = 164.5mm x 2 =329mm (12.95") + 16" = 28.95" or approx 29"
