My mate Gibbo needs a second car for occasional use.
he wants some thing Tax exempt and cheap to insure, so we thought Land Rover.
He will only use it to come 2 miles to work if the weathers too bad for his bike and the odd trip tip the tip and taking dog out.
Whats your thoughts?
Have a look in your garden you might have a spare one!

theres a few knocking about on here for sale..

not tax exempt but I have an S3 (minimans old motor) in my yard if your intrested needs a bit of work for MOT (currently has no tax/test)
But does come with 2 spare gearbox's along with other bits.
would need trailering away
make me an offer

Ahhh you bought that then, I nearly did before we came to the conclusion it was too much work for me and my dad.

Swapped it for my old disco as miniman wanted engine for his 90
Had a guy knock on the backdoor and asked if was intrested in selling it today.
I was at work so he left SWMBO with contact number gave him a bell and turns out he's a scrap dealer.
Offered me £30
I politley declined
Its worth more if I strip it myself

Or an early s111 :D

Only an S3 if it's a Ringer... S3s were as far as I know introduced in about 78? and Tax exempt stopped at 71.
-
Series 3 began in '71 - tax exemption stops on anything built on or after 1st Jan 1973 I believe.
-
Hmmm I thought it stopped on like 1/01/71, and his S3 is listed as 1980 in his sig anyway so it won't be exempt...

Yes. Cut off date for tax exemption is 1st January 1973.
So then Dew, what did you think was built between 1971 and 1978? Because the 2A ceased production in 1971.

Employee Strikes?
Sorry, I am a Moron. I just have never seen an S3 Older than 1980 tbh.
-
That's because a lot have been broken now (due to chassis rot) or have had identity swaps to make them tax exempt. Production wasn't all that good during the 1970s either.

Daisy was born 16th June 1975, and has lots of brothers and sisters (who began life earlier in 71, prototypes for MOD in about 1965) still doing their thing........last S3 entered life in 1984 properly - a year after the beginnings of the springy things!
