Post by: bezzabsa on March 27, 2006, 11:26:03
tricky or pee easy?
just that mine is weeping from the front edge, so i think its time to change it.. are they the sort that stay put, or move as soon as you try and tighten anything up??

if your concerned about a slipping gasket
i use something called weldseal, only on one surface to hold the gasket in place and its like poo to a blanket
best stick it to the cover so if you ever remove it, it will be easier to clean off
the cover

Lotus 907 engine - as used in Eclat/Elite/Espirit/Jensen Healey - the standard way of making them stay put is to Evostick them to the rocker covers.

I use Loctite gasket on the coverside and just a smear of grease on the head side. This makes future removal easier and less likely to damage the gasket.  Just don't be to eavy handed when you tighten the cover down.

I just add oil regularly  :?

Seriously Hylomar Blue should help.  They can be Bas***ds even when stuck on.
