Title: power sockets

are they supposed to be ignition switched or permanently fed?
wired up a 4 way fag lighter thingy courtesy of the local pound shop and its a royal pain keep pulling the wires everytime i stop

can be wired either way - depends if you want to be able to power stuff without the engine running.  You could always have two - one ignition live, one permanent live

MOst of them are wired in a feed from the aux switch on the ignition, so you can run things through without the engine running, but kill everything when you take the keys. If not put a switch inline and have it wired live through that, so you can isolate it if you want

The sockets should be feed permanent live from a splice in the wiring harness just behind the dash panel next to the heater duct. It is normally a brown coloured wire.
