Title: How much is it my disco worth
Post by: lyndon on April 01, 2007, 12:38:08
Gents, due to the fact that I am now about to start a job where I am travelling 50+ miles to work each day, I have to sell my trusty Disco 200tdi.

I don't have a clue what I should be asking for it and so that is why I need your help.

She is a G reg 200 tdi 3 door in blue. Very little rust, 146000 on the clock. She has 4 new 50/50 tyres, has very recently been serviced and had a new cam belt fitted, along with the usual seals and pulleys etc that go with that job. a new thermostat, and loads of other little jobs that really didn't need doing, but I did them anyway. There is loads of reciepts etc and the engine was re built professionally about 25,000 miles ago and I have the paperwork for that. She has also had a new floor in the rear. The exterior is tatty, but hey its a landrover. There are the usual scratches and the paint work is faded. She passed the last MOT without any dramas and the MOT runs until November.

Any idea on how much I should put her up at. At the moment I am think around the £1200 mark give or take a little?.

if it was down here it would be around the £900-£1400 depending on condition but i have seen some higher than that so i would think your not far off, it all depends of course if there is anyone that wants to buy it

Yes your right. But then thats always the way with selling a car isn't it. The other option I guess is to sell her to a specialist dealer for parts. Just seems a shame as theres is nothing wrong with it.

a good bench mark place to look is evil bay, I bought my H reg off ebay, 200tdi, had a very hard life, but had all the essentials repaired already. Strong engine, half decent box, and 10 months test and I paid £700 for it. A mate bought a J plate one which needs lots of welding and he paid £400 for his, it all depends on who is in the market for them, but they certainly sell well on ebay, and with the one you have there I would say about £950 was a good price if you wanted a quick sale.
