After 3 weeks of boring questions in over 20 hours of exams I was finally blessed with the perfect question this morning.....
"Explain the workings of a four stroke diesel engine and suggest why diesels provide the main tractive power on farms in the UK"
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D

christ, even i think i could answer that one!
...although i suspect some opinions may fall out towards the end with regard to the government doing its best to completely cripple uk farming thanks to their marvellous taxing schemes!

Easy. Diesel smells better. :)
You cant run a Petrol on Veg oil.
You dont get red petrol.
But the main reason, is the low down torque you can get from a Diesel. You dont have to rev the nuts off it to get anywhere. :)

economy, simplicity.

...and if worst comes to worst, most of the older agricultural machinery ought to be able to run on a mix of diesel and veg.
