Had a bit of a problem last night, took the Niva for a drive and had a loud noise come from the engine area.
Initially thought I may have forgotten to tighten something when I rebuilt it once I did the valves, but on stripping it down tonight I found the bolt that holds the oil pump sproket on to the pump had sheared off!!!!!
PANTS!! Am hoping the fact that the sprocket had fallen onto the crank sprocket and jammed, hopefully stopping the valves from bending, again!!!
Oh well, best get on the phone again tomorrow

I did not do nuffink, honest!!
Erm, well, came to the conclusion that, looking at the tab washer after retrieving it from the sump, that I may not have pulled it up around the bolt head.
i am thinking that it worked loose, then once slightly loose, the tension of the chain snapped the head off.
SOOOOOOOOOO, called Alan Bird, and they had ALL, bar one, of the valves i need in stock, but when it happened originally I still had some straight ones!!
So, the bits will be here tomorrow!!! :D
