Title: charging
Post by: davidlandy on February 25, 2006, 16:24:21
My alternator is charging at 14.5 volts, I thought that it should be around 13.5volts -  anybody know???

I have run one of my batteries down quite a way so is it just a case of the alterntor keeping up with demand???

cheers chaps

any more than 14.5 then should be concerned,
up to 14.5 it can be normall especially if you have dumped one of your batterys

cheers mikey, put my mind at rest.

I am gonna look around for a more heavy duty alternator in any case for my 300tdi- what will fit?  I hear that some mondeo ones might and they are 100amp plus..

any ideas?

Sorry to sort of steal your thread, but do you know whether there is a similar one for the 200tdi (I want to upgrade mine, but don't want to have to fork out for an expensive brand new one - I'd rather get one off a scrapper) :D

Thanks
