Does anybody know of any decent suppliers of chequer plate sill protectors for a 90(black preferably)
Cheers chaps

You could do with a good supplier of checker plate generally, then knock up your own
Thats what I'm lookin for

Would that be protectors on original sills ? If that is the case why not just get some reinforced sill protectors.

If you mean the ones that fit over the original sills and are the same size/shape as the original you can have mine when I get round to taking them off. They're in the original aluminium colour like but they'll be bloomin' cheap. Don't understand people wanting the things in the first place really. Mine came with the motor.

I only want some because the paints worn off on the drivers side where our legs keep rubbing as we get in and out (soft paint?)
-
Get some rock sliders - that would be a much better investment.
they are finished in black nylon coated.
...tough as nails and u can jack on them etc..etc........

I'd get sill bars, (rock sliders). Check out www.mill-services.com Old fuzzy features does some nice galvanised ones. Not expensive either. That should get me a drink at Driffield. :D

<chuckle>
"Fuzzy Features"
I can second the views of my grandfather about Mill Services though... not too expensive and will last forever. (Well almost)
IMHO, they look much nicer than the chequerplate, and will help to protect the bodywork.
If you want chequer plate sills, it's gonna be around 32 quid for a new set :

Does anybody know if mill services will powdercoat the sliders?
Whats the best type to get - the plain or the ones with the defender bars?
Cheers for all your veiws chaps - keep em coming!!
-
I suspect he probably does. Your best bet is to drop him a line and talk to him about what you want. He's a nice chap and understands Land Rovers.
I quite like the defender bar addition, but you need big-ish tyres on the vehicle, else I think they would look a bit daft.
Cheers,

I really don't know why but the term "rock sliders" winds me up. Not having a go at anyone here, but it's just one of those terms I dislike.
Strange that now I better go out and start rubbing down my rock sliders (ARGH) Sill protectors ready for the respray
On the subject of painting I used some of that Hammerite over rust paint on them before. Rubbed all the rust off then painted, and guess what 6 months later a mass of rust angain. Any tips ?
Damian
ps. I got my sliders from service tune, now rebel 4x4 I beleive for about £90.

Dont you mean Sill Protectors....... :D :D :D

Mill Services does powder coated bumpers, so he will most likely powder coat a set of sill bars. Be extra though.
GRANDFATHER?? You wait till Driffield young Tim.

LOL, touche.....
On another note did the rear shocks and springs today. Going great until......... Doing the last nut up on the top of the shock, then click and nothing. Sheered the bolt or the stud. Planning to put a washer in to see if this helps. Is this wize ?

Its not very clear from your description what you mean. Which shocker and what has sheared/stripped thread??? If you let us know which shocker then we can work out the mounting type. :D :D
