Title: Lightweight electrical problems
Post by: Bob Ajob on March 15, 2007, 12:18:41
Hi all,

A friend of mine has an electrical fault that at the moment I don't know too much about, only that his electrics are not working. The military convoy switch is wired up, though I don't know to what extent. I asked him to check that it wasn't set to all off or something for convoy.

A couple of questions:
1. What are the positions on the military switch supposed to do, are there markers denoting these?
2. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for a military lightweight?

Many thanks,
Rob.

Hi Rob,

HST: Headlight Stop & Tail
ST: Stop & Tail
T: Tail
OFF: Off
CONV: Convoy light only
S.CONV: Side Lights & Convoy

Might have a wiring diagram at home, I'll have a look tonight for you.

If you have the switch sitting on Conv or S.Conv you will loose tail, brake, headlights.  indicators, hazards (if fitted) and dash lights

Is it a gs or ffr (12 or 24v)?

Pm for you with the files you need

Cheers Paul & Kev!!

It's a 12v by the way, pretty sure general service, forgot that bit (should have known better)...

I have 'found' a wiring diagram on the internet, I've also since had a message back, could be a loose connection - he had electrics for about 5 mins until he started the engine. Gonna be fun to find I reckon, hopefully will see something dangling - well, live in hope eh.
