Mate has a Terrano II. He states when he reverses it in to tight bays it makes a load of noise from the rear axle , sort of scruping type sound.
I'm guessing that this is the LSD kicking in.. but does it really come on so easily and if so I'm guessing the tyre scuping is a result.
What do other owners find with these? Is this normal or likely something is amiss. Is this a known fault or just a "design characteristic"
Cheers

If its making a noise like that it no doubt needs an oil change. Has probably got the wrong stuff in. Common mistake by garages lare and small including main dealers is to just use their generic gearbox oil instead of using a proper limited slip diff oil.
2.8L of 80w/90 API GL5LS compliant oil required.
